Whew! Ok, it has taken us a *while* to get these girls together… We planned for a “Snow Shoot” up in the mountains when the snow first dusted Shasta County. Yeah, that was a while ago. Then, we had to reschedule. Then, someone got sick. Then, someone was out of town. Then, someone else got sick. Then, it rained really hard and it was super bad weather. Then, we finally did it! Then, the memory card failed. Oh. Em. Gee. Are you kidding me? Finally, today was the day. The stars aligned and my two funny, beautiful, sweet, wonderful girls came to play in the studio. We were going to go outside, because everything was green and blooming and the weather was holding (it is going to POUR tonight)…. but then we decided to stay in the studio and play with all the different sets we have in the camera room. We never did make it outside. Hmmmm. Why didn’t we do this in the first place? )
Today is National Wine Day. Now, I’m not a big wine fan, but I couldn’t resist posting this photo from our latest wedding up here in Redding, CA
. P&D had such beautiful, ornate sparking wine glasses, I knew I had to incorporate them somehow. Sometimes the best images are those when our main subjects really aren’t the subject at all. I say Cheers, to P&D and to you! Raise a glass to National Wine Day!!
Ok, I’m not gonna lie… I love my birthday. I love my birthday weekend. I love my birthday week. I love my birthday month! And I definitely LOVE the number 22! So, I’m feeling extra happy today! One month to go, and it’ll be MY day! Mine all mine!
I’m not sure what it is that makes me love my birthday so much. Is it the presents? The balloons? The candles? Or, more likely than not, it’s the cake. ) It’s also a day I celebrate being old. I haven’t always taken the best care of my skin. But I gotta tell ya, it’s the only skin I’ve got, and I love it. It’s blotchy and dry and a little wrinkly and squidgey around the edges. And let’s not even get into how many freckles there are! But it’s mine and I’ve earned every mark, line, and squiggle. The smile lines are my favorite, although now I’m seeing a lot of my “Oh My” lines on my forehead. Clearly, I’m surprised more than I think I am! ;o)
So – today’s just a day I enjoy… I kick off my birthday celebrations – celebrating me and how great I am.
My hope for you is that you get to love you as much as I love me!
Have a great day out there, y’all!
Wow! Just placed an order for FIVE different photo books! From Babies and Bellies to High School Seniors – our studio in Redding, CA creates custom products just for you! Come on by & see all we have to offer – 1137 Hartnell Avenue in beautiful Redding, CA!
It’s Sydnie’s turn!!! Her sister came in a few years ago, and this year, it was Sydnie’s turn! Her cousin, mom, and boyfriend all came along for the ride – first up to Old Shasta, then off to Caldwell Park in downtown Redding, and then back to the Studio on Hartnell. Dang, we fit a lot in that day….. I absolutely love Syd’s shiny black hair on our rich red backdrop in the studio! And who could resist that creamy skin up at the barn at Old Shasta… FABulous! Love being able to combine location shoots with our fabulous in-studio portraits. You definitely get something different at Redding’s favorite photography studio!! ;o)
Took Kevin out and about in downtown Redding, CA last fall for his Senior Portrait session. Mom came with him and schlepped all the clothes & paraphernalia that goes with a HS Senior session… As we walked around the downtown promenade area, we realized we were photographing in front of places that mom had grown up with – the Cascade Theatre, the downtown Redding Hotel, and wonderful Market Street. She even worked at the spot where one of our favorite photos ended up being created! Such fun reminiscing with her – and how great for Kevin to see these landmarks through his mother’s eyes. The photos turned out GREAT, and I hope Kevin will always remember the experience!
I’ve been stuffing my face with peeps lately (the purple birdie ones, of course!), but clearly, I had not had enough sweet stuff today. Baby Nevaeh came in today for her 9 month old session. Is she not the sweetest?!?! ) Mom brought in Easter Eggs and she could not get enough of them…. Brought out the new backdrop today – LOVIN it for creating a nice, smooth backdrop for our beautiful subjects to just POP!
We had a FOUR Generation family session – loved it! From calling John “Joe” the whole time, a little streaker, and moments that brought me to tears – loved every minute of it! Although we love our studio, for a group this large, we chose an outdoor setting – lots to choose from in this beautiful Shasta County setting. Redding’s favorite photography studio is available when you are – just call us at 530.223.5456!
Trevor and Allison came in for wedding portraits as they were sneaking over the border to get hitched! What a fun, loving couple – thanks for letting me share part of your adventure! )
Laura came in for a quick in-studio Senior Session – look at what we can do in just a half-hour session. She was so shy at first, but once she peeked in the back of the camera, she trusted us and opened up that beautiful smile. A little pampering at the salon first, and her session was off to a great start! Need Senior Portraits for 2013? Give us a call at 530-223-5456!
